videos won't play, but there's an option to disable them in the launcher so you don't get stuck on a black screen. After doing that, everything else worked fine.
It starts up to a blank screen. I waited around for a while and tried hitting a bunch of buttons to make sure it wasn't just a video not playing, before eventually killing the process.
Seems to have the same issues as the other Agarest games (hangs on startup)
I couldn't get any steering controls (tried keyboard and ps4 controller) to work during an actual race. The game seemed to run fine other than that.
When I had my 8bitdo controller plugged in the view was constantly being pulled up, but I didn't run into any problems after unplugging the controller.
The opening video didn't load, and I didn't have a way to test multiplayer, but the I played through the tutorial without any issues.
everything works, but if you want a modern resolution, you have to edit steamapps/common/Doom 3/d3xp/DoomConfig.cfg

An error window titled "CsMessage" and containing "HashCode: 157044955", among a lot of special characters that don't seem to be displaying correctly. This happened when I hit the play button from the DMO launcher after installing updates.
I reported that it crashed after clicking the play button, but after closing several of the mostly unreadable error windows, it starts to load the game, pausing to spit several error boxes at me periodically until it finally gave me a connection error message and "translation needed", and then fully crashing.
Starts a black screen with a custom cursor, and that's all. I don't think it's a cutscene not playing, because I wasn't able to skip through it with any buttons or keys and I let it go for several minutes with no change.
Opens to a black screen and the process goes zombie and stays that way until killed.
I tried everything I could think of, but the game just crashes instantly. The bug report on the proton github page says it has to do with mfplat.
I used the same rename/symlink steps as everyone else, and it ran beautifully with every setting turned up
there's an executable (transition.exe) that seems to be missing. Running the game creates a file called transition in that directory, but it is not an executable.
Some textures were missing with AA at 8x, but they worked fine with AA turned off. I didn't try anything in between. If you have any oddness with textures, try turning off AA.
I was unable to change the resolution or switch to windowed mode, and it crashed when I tried to exit the game, but it was perfectly playable.
The text boxes worked fine for me, but it did hang after the first death.
There's definitely an issue with the fonts. It seems to be trying to lay many characters on top of each other. The game seems to play pretty well besides the completely unreadable text, though.
It crashed on me once in the hour I played it, but I intend to keep playing and just save often. Works fine other than that, just save before entering shops.
The PlayOnline splash screen comes up with an error box "Unknown error 0x80040154"
Some load times were very long in the beginning, but everything seems to work.
I got as far as the title screen, which had some elements that didn't render correctly. The game had trouble with my ps4 controller and only up and down worked on my keyboard. When I managed to close the game, it left a large blank window behind that didn't go away until I restarted steam.
I was unable to find a match online, but the leaderboards work fine and the player count is very low, so I don't believe that has anything to do with proton.
If you wait long enough, it will eventually get past the "Player Beware..." screen but it then moved at about a frame per second for me. I was still able to click through the menus and get to the game, but it took about 10 minutes and a lot of frustration to get through what probably should've been about the first 15 seconds of the game, so not really playable.
I cranked up every video setting I could find and played online for an hour and a half with no issues whatsoever.
It gives an error "GetThreadContext failed", which is a known issue with the latest nvidia drivers with some games. add PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command% as a launch option to fix it. The game runs beautifully after that, but hangs on exit and has to be closed manually.
Some of the cutscenes won't play, but can be skipped. The game ran pretty well overall, but I had some minor stuttering a couple times.
Click through the black screens (videos not playing) and everything else seems to work perfectly
the videos don't play, but can be clicked through, and some events get stuck, but can also be skipped.
Sound doesn't work at all, and the events get stuck once a while, but they can skipped when that happens.
after changing "ScreenHeight16by9" and ScreenWidth16by9" in steamapps/compatdata/356190/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Local Settings/Application Data/WB Games/Shadow of War/render.cfg, it runs perfectly.
The only problem I had was finding a multiplayer game, but I can't really say if that's a Proton problem or a lack of players problem. For all I know, multiplayer works just fine, but nobody's playing.
My PS4 controller didn't work properly, and the cutscenes didn't play. After switching to keyboard controls and clicking through any cutscenes, everything else worked well.
Wine gave me a nondescript error on startup, after which I was able to alt-tab into the game but it was hung.
It now shows a loading screen for a few seconds and then and then crashes as before.
selecting "Travel Guide" made the game freeze, and every time I tried starting the game after that it opened in an odd window shape that made it basically unplayable. The game itself did seem like it would be playable in a normal aspect ratio, but I was unable to get back to a normal aspect ratio.
I did one playthrough and had no problems at all. Everything worked as expected.
I disabled Esync and D3d11 and it ran pretty well, but crashed once while I was in the menu.
I didn't get any graphics driver errors, and the menus seem to work fine, but the game itself is just a black screen.
I couldn't get past the launcher. Seems to be a problem with the Nexon launcher, as I had very similar problems with Vindictus.
I tried the network features again after proton 3.16-4, and found that the rankings and replays work fine, but I'm unable to find a match online in both casual and ranked.
Stick figures didn't load the first round, but if this happens just exit and try again. After my second try I never had an issue. I was tempted to call it gold for that reason, but I didn't have to tweak anything and it worked perfectly aside from that one first try.
Was immediately crashing until I enabled "PROTON_NO_ESYNC": "1". It launched after that, but it was immediately apparent there were some assets missing or some rendering issues as the main menu is mostly black. Going into Options seems to work, except you can't see a lot of it. Choosing New Game caused the game to crash.
No audio at all (didn't even show up in Applications tab of volume widget in Plasma). Resolution won't go above 1280*720. Everything else works well.
The game crashes when you switch resolutions or go to windowed mode, but if you start it again the new settings will be applied, and it runs great. I played online with no hitches after changing the resolution and restarting the game.
I got the same results as previous reports. Freezes at a black screen on startup.
"Fatal error: The application lost the device context!" displayed across the screen right away. I was still able to navigate the menu beneath, but the game itself was not playable
Multiplayer doesn't work, it can't communicate with the server. The game crashes whenever you apply changes to the video settings, but they will be changed when you start the game again. The Ship Single Player and The Ship Tutorial work perfectly, other than crashing when applying video settings, the same as multiplayer.
The .NET installer gets to a point where it tries to download a file and hangs there.
Cutscenes don't work, but I didn't run into any other issues. Gamepad worked fine for me.
set PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command% as a launch option
I played a couple quick matches online and played around with a few other modes with no tweaks and no issues. It seems to run perfectly.
tested with opengl. The game runs perfectly, but I had mixed results playing online. A couple servers booted me immediately, but another worked fine. Also the video got messed up when I tried setting a 21:9 resolution in fullscreen.
when you start a level the loading screen never goes away, so it seems the level starts, and you can hear things happening but all you can see is the loading screen.
No text in buttons on the main menu or any text boxes in-game. I suppose you could play it if you already knew what to do
The launcher started, and eventually went away and the game never started. Had to kill the process.
