Perfection aside from intro video.
Initial video wouldn't play. However, I just navigated to the game files (see the other comments), found the movie, watched it, and continued on.
Pretty good, outside of the lag when a match starts and missing videos. If they could fix those, it's perfect.
Videos, say on the command list, won't play and you instead get the SMPTE color bars.
Noted some lag when stage initially loaded in, though disappeared through play. This was kind of problematic in a competitive fighter.
Stuttering & slowdowns on counters in multiplayer. As a competitive game, sadly not playable. Local play seems fine though.
Videos (pre-rendered, I believe) do not properly load, i.e. in the command list.
Slight stutter when loading in levels in 1440p. Don't have it when on the windows version.
Minor stuttering, not very noticeable. Campaign quickstart option crashes, individual mission menu works. By god, I'm playing Halo on Linux.
Slight stuttering is noticeable, especially in cut scenes. However, the actual gameplay is mostly smooth, and is most definitely playable. I imagine should multiplayer ever be available, the stuttering would be an issue for the reflexes required for that, but it's barely noticeable for campaign.
I tried enabling the unlimited for the refresh rate since I own a 144hz monitor; but that didn't seem to function, but otherwise was performing at 60hz the entire time.
I wasn't able to play the campaign by going to quickstart. After choosing the difficulty, I would go to a black screen in which, after a while, a windows dialogue box with the message 'Fatal error!' would appear, and then the game would crash. The dialogue box was too small to read any other text, and wasn't responsive to enlarge when I tried so I don't have much more info than that.
However, should you try to enter the campaign by going to the individual missions, that appears to work perfectly (minus the stuttering I mentioned earlier).
Perfect! Really impressive how far proton has come.
Initially I had trouble getting my XBOX One controller (wired) caught by the game, but I rebooted and it worked instantly, so although I'm leaning towards this being an issue with my PC over the game, I'll note it just in case.
Aside from 'View Ability' videos not working, and initial controller struggle, all working. Atleast 60fps @ 2k, no stuttering visible.
Lots of problems trying to get a XBOX one wired controller working. No idea what ended up fixing it, after the 3rd/4th restart it suddenly caught and was working ?!
The ability tree "View Ability" little videos were not playing, and instead showed a blank white screen. No fix known by me.
