It did not work out of the box. So some tweaking is probably necessary.
Proton-4.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Proton-4.21-GE-2 of GloriousEggroll
I had problems using the keyboard after Alt+Tab out of the game with other versions of Proton.
Immediate crash... / game stopped after starting.
Just added "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%" to the launch options. Game runs perfectly... but I didn't want to spoiler me before playing the prequel. ^^'
No problems with graphics or performance during combat or cut scenes etc.
Started fullscreen on my secondary monitor ignoring the config (I tried to change it but it had no effect on it..). Could be also a thing of wayland or Steam in general but I could move the fullscreen application to my primary screen after starting (no big deal).
It did not save my changes in the graphics settings (anti-aliasing)... could be also a bug from game itself. I can't tell.
The game runs perfectly without any special configuration.
It crashed after selecting what to start (options or game). Both crash btw...
It crashed after starting from black screen by a 'fatal error'.
Actually it runs without tweaks but the models of the characters won't render if you don't use OpenGL. Another issue is that the game doesn't close correctly without killing task (Esync off doesn't solve that). But game runs fine now!
I just added "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%" to the launch options.
The fullscreen was forced to move to my secondary monitor. I could not change it, so I guess I have to play in window mode.
In the first menu to change the player name etc.: There are different keys/buttons which do not work. So the menus do not work properly.
It runs perfectly fine out of the box. You can't change the player name though.
Performs installing Java 1.8 but crashes afterwards without message or hint
Installs UPlay, EasyAntiCheat and DirectX, but fails to start with an error-message.
The game runs smooth. Multiplayer works fine as well and the custom version of Proton solved all remaining bugs with input and others.
5.9-GE-8-ST GloriousEggroll
Proton-5.9-GE-8-ST of GloriousEggroll
It is possible to encounter problems with the keyboard after tabbing out of the game with other Proton versions. That's quite common for games using Unity. Proton versions below 5.0 will most likely not work at all.
You have to tinker with the game to some degree until it runs without any problems. So it won't work out of the box in all situations.
I noticed some distortion with its audio when I used Jack to bridge Pulse for the reason of noise filtering my microphone during multiplayer sessions.
The keyboard won't work at all or it won't work after Alt+Tab out of the game and coming back into it. This can be fixed using a custom Proton version though.
I recommend to use the custom Proton version of GloriousEggroll: Proton-5.9-GE-8-ST. This should fix all input related problems.
It's a great game and runs without issues out of the box.
I play weekly with other friends.
The game does not really provide local multiplayer but you can open a singleplayer session and take turns depending on the active character since it is turn based.
The original board game is recommended by me as well but this is a fantastic implementation of it to play it online.
First it closed window immediately, but after disabling Esync it just worked. Also enabling VSync made it work without disabling Esync.
The loading screen just hangs the game sometimes. Reason unclear... rest is fine so far.
Starts without Esync and runs without problems if you disable D3d11... really nice.
30 fps on low graphics, runs fine but this PC-port is still horrible/unplayable without gamepad. But the gamepad is not recognized...
It loads a long time in black screen, then it crashes.
The characters have dark graphical artefacts flickering over their bodies. Otherwise seems to work fine.
Opens UPlay which detects something wrong and crashes in infinite loading..
Game stucks sometimes, but looks like a problem of the game itself. Runs fine..
The game runs fine out of the box. I only noticed some longer loading black screens which could be skipped however. ^^
It crashed when I pressed "play", so only the settings-dialog works out of the box.
Well, it depends - performance is still not great. I don't think Linux is the issue here. I recommend pre-caching shaders if possible.
I installed the newest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable to the wine prefix which seems necessary to run the game. Works afterwards.
The frametimes are definitely not smooth but I think that's related to the game, not Proton.
I've encountered a crash, potentially during runtime shader compilation. Couldn't reproduce but it seems to be game/engine related.
Saving settings for benchmarking is kind of unintuitive. You have to press the apply button until a loading bar fills up to complete saving settings. ^^'
Seems to be intended but I didn't expect it. Clicking the button just once doesn't save anything.
At least the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable needs to be installed. So until Proton automatically installs that or ships it internally, the game won't just run out of the box. However performance isn't great either yet. So maybe wait for better compatibility and performance patches.
Because it is a puzzle game, you can probably overlook the stutters, I noticed. So it's quite playable.
I experienced relative rough stutters during walking.
Running perfect as long as you don't move the mouse. Moving the mouse causes however fps-drops, even in the menus. Using Steam-controller instead of mouse solved it to enjoy the game.
Starting the native version fails if the window configuration is set to "automatic" which is the default. As windowed application it works but with minor issues.
The native version seems quite slow and unoptimized.
Closing the native version seems to cause a hangup of itself. The process won't end until forced shutdown of it.
Game runs fine. Pretty fun to be honest and the acting is great!
nxstream: "Application exception has been occured. This application will be terminated."
Then it terminates..
Starts connector from Nexon to Steam.. fails by Security reset.. seems to be networking problems.
Launcher Error: "Please add an exemption for Nexon Game Security (BlackCipher.aes) to your firewall or antivirus and try again."
Throws error: "Please add an exemption for Nexon Game Security (BlackCipher.aes) to your firewall or antivirus settings and try again."
Seems to run comparable to Windows so far. Glad finally the anticheat software doesn't seem to be an issue anymore.
I encountered some stutters during loading sequences and when a mission ended but I think that's not unusual on Windows as well.
Didn't experience any issues but I only tested one mission - no raids or anything.
